Nuggets…Zestfully Embracing the Aging Process (ZEAP)

Mark Twain is credited with the statement, “Age is a matter of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter. This high impact, fun program is based on small and valuable pieces of information about aging – gathered from everyday, ordinary people ranging in age from 60 to 100 who have embraced the aging process and are enjoying the journey. It explores the concept of positive aging; and shows us how to rebrand the way we approach the aging process.

Aging and Self-esteem

A study published by the American Psychological Association found that “self-esteem was lowest among young adults but increased throughout adulthood, peaking at age 60, before declining”. This insightful talk addresses the issue of declining self-esteem among older Americans. It examines some of the reasons self esteem may decline after age 60; and provides steps one can take to halt the decline.

Making the Rest of Your Life the Best of Your Life

Your tomorrow is influenced by the choices and decisions you make TODAY! This presentation challenges you to be more mindful of the life you're creating. It gives you the tools and motivation needed to:

  • Raise your self-image and performance
  • Build relationships that work
  • Get healthier
  • Find focus, peace of mind and a sense of purpose – all the things necessary for making the rest of your life the best of your life

Serving Underserved and Under-Represented Communities

Poverty, health disparities, and healthcare disparities go hand-in-hand in low income communities, communities of color and underserved rural and urban areas. These areas also have less access to quality healthcare, preventative services, and community conditions that promote healthy living and positive aging. In this intense program, you will learn creative strategies for engaging and serving these communities.

Job Search Strategies for Older Americans

Looking for a job at any age can be a daunting experience. But, when you are 55 and over, it can be overwhelming. So much so that many older Americans – though they need and want to work – simply give up. This program provides strategies to help older Americans land a job. It covers topics such as skills assessment, networking, setting goals, using social media, and interviewing.
